Griffin To Jessie Johnson

After Mama died, my younger sister,
Lillie, and I went thru Mama's archives
identifying all that we could for future
reference; thus the addition of 'Griffin'
and 'Johnson'.

From Melie (Atwood) McNabb Norman to her mother, Bell (Cochran) Atwood
Back of picture post card

This card is difficult to read, but in general, she is saying that she must have more pictures made for other family members and bring them when she comes to visit. Looks like one for Idy, one for Wesley and one for Edd.
Edd & Wesley would be her brothers, Jesse Edgar "Edd" Atwood and John Wesley, my grand-uncles. Wesley died in 1917, by then Melie was divorced from Albert Lee McNabb and married to Columbus Washington Norman.

The next 3 cards were sent to me by Helen (Atwood) Greenwood

Helen is the daughter of Edgar Lee & VohnZella (Easley) Atwood; granddaughter of Jesse Edgar "Edd" & Mary Susan Miranda "Susie" (Newton) Atwood and great-granddaughter of Bell & Nathan Atwood. Her Aunt Neva Sue Ann (Atwood) McWilliams has perserved the cards since her parents (Edd & Susie) died.
Helen is my 2nd cousin and Neva Sue is my 1st cousin, once removed. Thanks Helen and Neva.

From Cenia to Bell

Post card from: Ascenath "Cenia" (Peyton) Cochran to Nancy Alice Isabella "Bell" (Cochran) Atwood, her daughter; my Great-great grandmother and Great-grandmother, respectively.

Post card from: Mary A. to : Bell Atwood

This was probably Mary Lee (King) Atwood, wife of John Wesley (son of Nathan & Bell Atwood). They had a son named Roscoe Eugene. Wesley was born in Kentucky 12/29/1887 and died 12/30/1917 in Ky. He married Mary 2/12/1912. Roscoe was born 1/23/1913 in Paris, Lamar Co., Texas.
Wesley was 16 when the family moved to Texas. He later returned to Kentucky, where he died.
